The interview process consists of both a private dialogue with the principal and a classroom visit. To be considered for admissions, a child must demonstrate the readiness for school and learning, the ability to participate in school curriculum, and the willingness to:
- participate in individual, small group and whole group curricular activities
- be an active learner
- inquire, investigate, hypothesis, and experiment
- be open to new ideas
- cooperate with teachers, staff, and other students
- actively participate in humane education and environmental science projects
- demonstrate knowledge through a variety of media including written reports, oral
presentations, dramatic representations, visual displays, tests, debates, projects, and
demonstrations.
No child will be refused admission on the basis of sex, race, color, national origin, or creed. However, 2nd Nature Academy reserves the right to deny admission or revoke enrollment at their own discretion for reasons including, but not limited to, the following:
- Non-payment of tuition
- Inability to provide the school with medical records
- Lack of immunizations
- Child’s repeated disruptive behavior
- Child’s violent behavior
- Lack of cooperation with school staff by student or parent
- Developmental incompatibility for program which cannot be reasonably accommodated
